This morning my daughter and I had breakfast sitting at our dining table on the East Coast as usual. There was just one fantastic highlight to it. We had guests. And....our guests were in their living room in Bombay, India.
Thank you Facebook for your new-ish feature - video chat. What a delight it was for two little girls, my kid and my friend's kid to connect and share time. Time before the rush to school on a Thursday morning for mine. And time just before bed for her friend in Bombay.
This was unheard of years ago. Many years ago when I was that age. But let's not go there.
My kid was eating pancakes topped with strawberries and syrup...sugar overload! So her friend in Bombay decided she wanted some of that too, much to the chagrin of her parents!
They traded information on the value and popularity of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. The friend valued Justin. My kid, going through the "I hate boys" stage valued Selena.
This little blurb in our day, made our day. Thank you Facebook. Once again, you have connected me with a world I left a long time ago...my hometown, Bombay.
